14. 14 What can Government do to help? 1.As the pace of integration grows, ensure the NHS and local authorities (public health and care) are incentivised to shift spending from acute care into the community setting – NHS 5 Year Forward Plan 2.Publish a long-term strategy for health and housing with care & support within the first year of new Parliament, that recognises and builds on the important links between housing, health and care – Housing = health related activity Care Act para 5 3.Ensure that homes and housing services are part of the developing devolution agenda, to drive forward local solutions for local priorities across health and wellbeing - see Greater Manchester
