3 3 Bibliotherapy Definitions The use of books to help people solve problems. A child reading about a character who successfully resolves a problem similar to the one the child is experiencing. Create a healing through books. “A book may be able to reach where an adult cannot”. (Maich & Kean, 2003).

4 4 Benefits of Bibliotherapy An awareness that others have faced similar problems The knowledge that alternative solutions to problems exist. The development of a freedom to talk about problems. The growth of problem solving skills.
