All standards for course are included.Reviewed & revised annually. Multiple choice with some short/extended response items. Most can be administered in a (2) hour block. ELA (6-8+HS) Math (6-8+HS) Science (6-8+HS) SS (6-8+HS) Reading (6-8+HS)

Security Surrounding Teacher-Made Assessments Gilchrist County School District www.gilchristschools.org District-developed assessments are created under the supervision of Director of Secondary Education. Teacher-created assessments allow the teacher to know what is on the test. Established guidelines for administering a teacher and district- made assessment. All teacher-created assessments are reviewed prior to administration by Principal & Director of Secondary Ed. Assessments are copied by the Principal & turned back in to Principal. Master copy of all district & teacher- developed assessments housed at District Office.

Lessons Learned Gilchrist County School District www.gilchristschools.org Lack Validity & Reliability Established guidelines for administering are needed. 70% proficiency was reduced to 65%. Teachers need flexibility at semester if behind on curriculum map. Great way to offer an additional metric to student performance portion of evaluation.

Next Steps Gilchrist County School District www.gilchristschools.org Create new maps. Create new district & teacher-made assessments. Use charts of the standards to use when reviewing individual created assessments. Test-item banks with valid & reliable items.
