Introduction Paragraph Introduce the topic, theme or lesson Grab the reader’s attention!

2 nd, 3 rd, 4 th Paragraphs-“The Body” All are similarly constructed Expand upon the details of or tell the story that you introduced in the 1 st paragraph Use vivid, precise details Use descriptive verbs Appeal to the reader’s senses

Conclusion Paragraph Very much like other summary paragraphs we’ve written. Restate your theme and/or lesson learned. Really drive your theme home with a strong concluding sentence or zinger.

Scoring Rough Draft = 60 pts Revised Draft = 200 pts Scored using the PA writing rubric: –score of 1-4 in each domain –Focus, content, style, organization and conventions –Score out of 20 multiplied by 10
