Learning Target: Describe the relationships that exist between the Earth, Moon, and Sun and how they affect tides Today’s Question: Open to Page 171 #10. Correct the following Statement: Today we are comparing the position and the distance of the Earth that creates seasons. As the Sun rotates around the Earth, different parts of the Eastern and Western Hemisphere are closer to the sun. When a hemisphere is tilted away from the Sun it is in summer. Night and day occurs when the Earth revolves or spins on its axis of 30 degrees. Homework: Pg 61-73 Due Tomorrow and Quiz tomorrow

Learning Target: Describe the relationships that exist between the Earth, Moon, and Sun and how they affect tides Today’s Question: Open to Page 73. Correct the following Statement: Last week we looked at the different types of tides. Jumping tides are created when the sun, moon, and earth are lined up in a 90 ° angle. They create tides that are very high and very low. Waxing gibbous and waning gibbous moons occur during these tides. Other tides that are created, neap tides, result from the sun, earth, and moon at a perpendicular angle from each other. One possible line up is the moon, sun, and the earth. The full moon and the Waning crescent moons occur during neap tides. Furthermore the solar and lunar eclipse can occur during these tides

Learning Target: Compare and contrast the different objects in space. 1.Grab a Computer and login to your computer 2.Determine how you could leave comments for your partner if they forget to do something.

Learning Target: Compare and contrast the different objects in space including planets, stars, and rocks 1.Grab a Computer and login to your computer 2.Show me how you could set up a proportion in order to calculate the scaled diameter of your Planet or object if the sun is scaled down to 14 cm? 3.(internet working?) If so start working on your PowerPoint presentation. IF NOT, use the sections in your book to start researching information that you are doing your presentation on. 4.Homework: Continue working on PowerPoint at home. Will start Presentations on Wednesday. Due Friday Pg 219-231 # 5, 6, 9-15, 17-22 All of Page 131

Learning Target: Compare and contrast the different types of energies and the different ways they can transform. Write down as many examples of energy that you can on your own. On Miss Victor’s cue take turns with your partner saying the examples you came up with until you run out of answers. (FISH OR MAMMALS go first). Share out as class. Homework: Pg 101-111 # 3, 5, 8-12, 16-17, 19-23 All of page 111 DUE THURSDAY

Learning Target: Compare and contrast the different types of energies and the different ways they can transform. Which of the energy examples that we talked about yesterday would be considered renewable or nonrenewable energy? Homework: Pg 135-145 #3, 5-11, 13-21 All of page 145 DUE FRIDAY; Ski Worksheet and Pg 101 to 111 DUE THURSDAY
