Business Operations Research Events Directly to State 1-3 participants, 30 pages max, 15 minutes presentation to judge(s) Manuals are pre-screened, the Top 10 are announced at mini-awards on Friday of State Competition. The Top 10 manuals present to the judge(s) on Saturday. Business Services – HR, IT, personal and contracted services Buying and Merchandising – Retailers and wholesalers providing consumer goods Finance – Banks, credit unions, accounting/investment/other financial businesses Hospitality and Tourism – Hotels, restaurants, and tourism-related businesses Sports and Entertainment – Businesses that conduct sporting and/or entertainment events

Participating Events: Top 3 From District Advance to State 1-3 participants, 100 question multiple choice exam (Marketing Cluster), 11 page max manual, 20 minute presentation to judge Advertising Campaign – Any length (time frame for duration) for a real product, service, company, or business Fashion Merchandising Promotion Plan – Seasonal plan, using apparel and accessory items only, for a retail store, presenting to the store manager Sports and Entertainment Promotion Plan – Seasonal plan, for a sports and/or entertainment company, presenting to the company manager

Entrepreneurship Participating Top 3 Advance to State 1 participant, 11 page max manual, 20 minute presentation No test Three part business prospectus – Description of business – Marketing/promotion plan – Financing plan Can be independent or franchise

Professional Selling and Consulting Events Top 3 Advance to State 1 participant, 100 Question multiple choice test, 20 minute presentation to judge Hospitality and Tourism Selling – You are a relationship manager for an international educational tourism company. A school system in your territory has sent you a RFP because it wants to send 50 teachers and students to Costa Rica this summer to learn about the ecosysteme in Central America. You have a meeting scheduled with the school system’s assistant superintendent to present your company’s packages and price points.
