3. 1900-1926  1900-The scientist Tsiolkolsky started testing rockets.  1914-The scientist Goddard patented the 1 st rocket.  1926-Goddard launches the 1 st successful rocket.

4. 1930-1957  1930-V-2 spacecraft was made.  1944 –V-2 spacecraft left earths atmosphere.  1954- Viking spacecraft left earths atmosphere.  10/4/1957-Soviet satellite, Sputnik, became the 1 st manmade object to orbit Earth.

5. 1961- 1971  November 21, 1961- Soviet Yuri Gagarin becomes the 1 st space traveler. The Redstone rocket lifted.  May 11-25 1967- Photograph of the moon taken by Lunar Orbiter.  July 16 -24 1969-Neil Armstrong was the 1 st man to walk on the moon. 6. 1972-1981  1972-Apollo 16 take pictures of Earth.  1973-America launches the Space Station.(U.S.) 1 st U.S. space station launched.(U.S.)  1979-Skylab shows the image of the Sun`s corona.  1981-The 1st re-usable shuttle, Columbia was launched.

7. 1986-1998  1986-Mir space station launched.  1990- Hubble telescope launched.  1995- Galileo sends back photos and data about Jupiter's composition.  1996-Mars pathfinder landed on mars and released the “Rover.”  1998- 1 st modules of the international space station launched.
