Alcohol can cause implications in public health. It can also disrupt the circuits involved with compulsive behavior while driving and development of tolerance as well as impaired social and occupational functioning. Alcoholism can be characterized by chronic vulnerability to degenerate after finishing drinking. To understand the factors that urge some individuals to drink more than the necessary, alcohol researchers have focused on the identification of brain mechanisms that supports the reinforcing actions of alcohol and the series of changes in neural function induced by chronic ethanol consumption that leads to the development of dependence.

It has been said that teenagers are more than likely to take their first alcoholic drink during their High School years especially during the months of June and July when they are not busy in school and are in Summer vacations. This is why it is important for our younger generation to be prevented that alcohol is not something that will just be fun for just few hours but it can lead to serious conditions. Also, it is very important for those who are already consuming alcohol to think before you drink another one you might regret it later on when there is no turning back.

Psychological effects can be Mental Health Issue due to that it can cause depression, mood swings, stress and suicide thoughts. Brain-Alcohol can cause your neurotransmitters to relay information too slowly, making you feel extremely drowsy. During long-term or heavy drinking it may cause alterations in the neurons, such as it can reduce the size of brain cells. Stomach-While in the stomach, alcohol acts as an irritant due to the acid and increases digestive juices that are produced and discharge from the stomach lining. Intoxicating amounts of alcohol can stop the digestive process, robbing the body of vital vitamins and minerals. Chronic irritation may lead to damage to the lining of the stomach. Liver-Drinking large amounts of alcohol can damage not only your liver but it can interfere with the kidney function directly, or indirectly as a consequence of liver disease. The liver breaks down all the toxins that the alcohol contains and is sent to the brain, little by little liver cells get damage and there is no way those cells can be replaced.

Treatments for Alcohol Poisoning can be by a hemodialysis, dialysis, oxygen therapy and by flushing their stomach with fluids. All of these treatments are set to be done by a professional or at a dialysis center. Hemodialysis and dialysis are very similar they are a therapy that filters waist that the kidneys are no longer able to do. It removes extra fluids and balances the electrolytes which maintains water balanced.

In my personal experience, my older brother who was an alcohol addict put my family through a lot of stress. There was days that he would not come home because he was intoxicated and ended up arrested three times in a row for driving under the influence of alcohol. My family was very disappointed to see that one of our family member had to go through this rough situation, thinking that anytime something worse than just being arrested could had happen to him. After months past he was starting to have breathing problems, we took him to the hospital the doctor diagnosed him with a pulmonary disease due to heavy drinking. As for the society, someone being under the influence of alcohol can put another person or even themselves in danger leading them to a serious injury or a pulmonary disease, or it can lead to worse, death. My message is, If you don't want your life to be like that, then don't drink, you should always think of yourself and family.
