4 FOCUS ON COUNTRY OWNERSHIP Countries determine their own priorities and develop their own proposals Compact development includes mandatory consultations with civil society and the private sector MCA entities lead implementation of MCC compacts and employ national citizens

5 CORE BUSINESS: MCC COMPACTS 5-year grants ranging from $60 million to $698 million Nearly $10 billion in 27 Compact programs to date Implemented by the partner country government with guidance and oversight from MCC

6 PREPARATION: MCC THRESHOLD PROGRAM 2- or 3-year grants ranging from $6 million to $55 million Awarded to countries committed to improving policy performance; smaller than compacts in scale and objectives 24 partner countries; 2 active programs Implemented by MCC and USAID in consultation with the partner country government
