Bala Kendras Objective: To impart fine arts and vocational skills to children Target group: Rural children between 6-14 years Fine arts - To enable the children to express their emotions in a meaningful and healthy manner, as a choice of vocation and as a joyful activity Vocational skills - To give the children a sense of economic security and independence, thus boosting their self esteem Marshal arts

Objective: Girls Empowerment. "To make the girls aware of their rights and responsibilities, to enable them face the challenges of life and to help them in adopting a responsible life style"

Convergence Being implemented in collaboration with Prajwala Prajwala is a leading anti-trafficking organization doing yeomen services for the empowerment of the most marginalized women and children

Mode of operation 200 schools from 25 EBBs Enrollment: over 40,000 girl children Members of the club: 30 girls from classes 7th, 8th and 9th Training through film shows and discussions Leading resource persons as guest speakers including doctors and activists

Martial Arts Program (MAP) Objective: "To equip the girls with self defense techniques and to make them physically and emotionally fit" Target group: Girls of all Model Cluster Schools

Mode of operation Number of schools covered = 400 under 25 EBBs In each school, girls are trained in two batches: - An intensive coaching batch of 30 girls for competitions - A self defense training batch of all girls in the school

Convergence The program being implemented in collaboration with, - Budokhan Karate Association (200 schools) - Taekwando Association (200 schools)

Spoken English Program Objective: To improve the speaking and functional english skills of the school children Number of schools covered: 200 Model Cluster Schools (MCS) Number of beneficiaries: Around 8000 girls

Salient features Impact measurement: base line test and post-assessment test Convergence: Pratham Organization - Video recording at the end of program to showcase the speaking skills of children - Interactive class room sessions for three months - Reference and practice material given
