1 Doing it Differently Ideas for D&T accommodation Doing it Differently Ideas for D&T accommodation The following file is a case study to show aspects of D&T accommodation in just one school The purpose of this case study is to provide ideas and talking points for those involved in the refurbishment or new – build of D&T accommodation in secondary schools This case study is not presented as an ‘ideal solution’ applicable to all schools

Vocational subjects taught: Construction & Hairdressing Focus of this case study: How a traditional D&T workspace can be re- engineered to accommodate current pedagogy

The floor space allocated is less than average and therefore space is at a premium. A traditional D&T Department has changed to accommodate more vocational courses
