1 Overview of Culture –Behavior In Chinese culture, it is dishonor to individual or entire family not to obey is elders. Failure to do is shame to the community.

2 Overview Marriage and Family Young men who plan to get marry always have to consult match maker before making decision of whom to marry. Having son also is a major goal because men especially firstborn stay at home with their parents in order to take care of them. Also couples who already married stay with parents as well. When a woman is married she joined her husband and live on the same roof with her in-law.

3 Gender Roles Traditional beliefs have always placed men ahead of women in the social hierarchy. The beliefs created pressure on families to produce a boy so the family name will carry on. The belief that daughter will be marry off to their husband.

4 Overview of Chinese Culture Traditional The Chinese cleans their house before the New Year in other to get rid of bad luck from the previous years. They believe that New Year always bring them good luck and for the rest of their lives.

5 Overview of culture Academic Kindergartens combine childcare with teaching to help the child develop physically, morally, intellectually and aesthetically to prepare for formal school. Shenyang Creative Kindergarten – every room has two teachers – one who is native English speaking and the other native Chinese speaking – implemented play based interactional learning circle time and photos for families to help reinforce.

6 History of Culture Ancient Xia Dynasty was about 2200 B.C when the Chinese education started. It was exclusively an elite privilege during this time, it was not until 1000 years later that advent of Confucianism in theory became an education, which was accessible to common people. A Confucian education emphasizes basic skills like horseback riding and martial arts

7 Inclusionary Practices In 1980, China has been implementing the inclusive education for those students who have disabilities. The goal is to meet the requirements for those students with special needs so that they would not be denied by school because of their mental, physical, emotional, linguistic or any other problem that the child might have.

8 Parental/community involvement Parents play a major role when it comes to their children‘s education. They participate in every activities that the child does in school. Their goal is to see those children being successful in life. School provides a means for educators to better equip the learners with knowledge.
