At Risk Identification based on State Assessment Syntax written to identify students who should be coded At Risk in PEIMS based on their state assessment scores. Data file to be used for running analysis is the CAF file. Syntax will need to be updated for the spring test administrations in the summer. To update the syntax Update the variable names to match the new year and new CAF file Update the cut scores for each of the assessments – based on 110% rule.
34
At Risk Identification based on State Assessment (Cont..) Region centers and Eduphoria did not update this information until after September/October. We were able to identify At Risk students prior to the start of the school year. Benefits: Saves time for our Counselors at the beginning of the school year and; Provides an accurate and consistent coding of At Risk for State Assessment.
35
At Risk Identification based on State Assessment (Cont..) Consistent variable names are key in writing syntax – create a list of your variables when planning

SPSS for Checkpoint Data Analysis SPSS for Checkpoint Data Analysis

Checkpoint Data Analysis District created checkpoints at key points in the school year are used to track groups for potential performance on state assessment. District can identify campuses, grades, classrooms, and students that are performing below standard to provide intervention prior to state assessment. District must develop a passing standard for each checkpoint so that it can be compared to STAAR standards. Syntax was developed to group campuses by their Assistant Superintendent to allow for use of the data in multiple ways.
38
Checkpoint Data Analysis Carefully pick variable names – It was set up to match a CAF file and the Syntax was modified from Index 1 calculations. DATA

SPSS for Administrative Performance Review SPSS for Administrative Performance Review

Administrative Performance Review Administration mid-year review or performance snapshot based on district created checkpoint results compared to their performance goals. The checkpoint results last year helped establish a baseline for their performance goals this year. Syntax was developed to group campuses by their Assistant Superintendent to allow for use of the data in their performance review. Data broken down by grade level totals at each campus, campus total, and then campus type total.
