2 GSM-R of Chinese railway In 2002 , ministry of railway proposed that China should develop Train Control System which is suitable to ourselves (short for CTCS), confirmed GSM-R as Chinese railway integrated digital mobile communication network ; In 2003 , China began to design GSM-R network , recently we have Tibet line, Daqin line and Jiaoji line which use GSM-R technology , totally about 2100km long.

Ministry of Railway of the People’s Republic of China 7 ii ) ITCS – Improved train control system Wireless communication platform based on GPS and GSM-R Train’s integrality relies on 400MHz wireless communication at train’s head and tail Needless of signal machine and track circuit at section and station. With RBS technology, section use virtual blocking and stations use virtual interlock. Driver controls operating of the train by means of on-board MMI, the system is capable of ATP Applicable for the improving and speed-up of existed automatic blocking, also for the newly built railway which has no track circuit. Safe and economical train control system
