Why Our Work Is Important to America American and Global Security - Preventing conflict around the world - Play critical role in our nation’s effort to stabilize countries - Help governments transition away from violence American and Global Prosperity - The U.S.’ economic future will in part be determined by USAID’s work - Developing world plays a large role in America’s economic fortunes - In 2009, US exported over half-a-trillion dollars - 97% of export revenues went to small and medium size US companies
