3. Parallel Structure or construction

4. What is it? Parallel construction is when we present a list of things all in the same way. For example: if two things in a list are adverbs, the third should also be an adverb. If two things in a list are "to [verb]," then the other should also be in the form "to [verb]." To fix it, we just phrase all of the items in the list the same way.

6. The most common errors: Lists: – All items in the list need to be phrases similarly: I respect his eloquence and that he is brave. WRONG – you need both items to be nouns: – I respect his eloquence and his bravery

7. Another example: To learn what it means to love someone is accepting the flaws of others. – To learn what it means to love someone is to accept the flaws of others

8. Pairs- two items described: It’s so hard to decide between the cheaper priced meal or the higher quality one. – It’s so hard to decide between the chaper proced meal and the higher quality one.
