2
During Jesus time with his disciples, he told them “The Son of Man will be delivered over to the chief priests and the scribes, and they will condemn him to death and deliver him over to the Gentiles. (34) And they will mock him and spit on him, and flog him and kill him. And after three days he will rise." Mark 10:33- 34 1
3
The sins of the whole world were laid on Him in his hours of suffering on the cross. “Christ died for the ungodly” Romans 5:6 2
4
3 Two believers, Joseph and Nicodemus, took him down from the cross and put his body in a new tomb. But thee days later, the stone was found rolled away and the grave clothes were folded neatly where his body had been.

4 Mary and her friend, also named Mary, found angels at the tomb. Luke 24:4-5 While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel. (5) And as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, "Why do you seek the living among the dead?”
6
5 Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen. Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee. Luke 24:6
7
6 Returning from the tomb they told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest. But these words seemed to them an idle tale, and they did not believe them. Luke 24:9-11
8
7 Jesus joined two people as they walked along a road together. When he joined them for supper, they recognized him as the risen Lord. Luke 24
9
And they rose that same hour and returned to Jerusalem. And they found the eleven and those who were with them gathered together, saying, "The Lord has risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!" Then they told what had happened on the road, and how he was known to them in the breaking of the bread. Luke 24:33 8
10
On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the doors being locked where the disciples were for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, "Peace be with you." John 20:19 9
11
10 When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Thomas, one of the Twelve was not with them when Jesus came. The disciples told him, "We have seen the Lord." But he said to them, "Unless I see in his hands the mark of the nails, and place my finger into the mark of the nails, and place my hand into his side, I will never believe." John 20:20-25
12
11 John 20:26-29 Eight days later, his disciples were inside again, and Thomas was with them. Although the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you." (27) Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe." (28) Thomas answered him, "My Lord and my God!" (29) Jesus said to him, "Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."
13
12 On one occasion, Jesus appeared on the shore where the disciples were fishing. He caused their nets to overflow with fish and then welcomed them to eat with him on the shore. John 21
14
13 So when they had come together, they asked him, "Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?" "It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." Acts 1
15
14 And when he had said these things, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight. And while they were gazing into heaven as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white robes, and said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven." Acts 1:9-11

How important is the resurrection? 1Corinthians 15:12-20 (12) Now if Christ is proclaimed as raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? (13) But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. (14) And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain. (15) We are even found to be misrepresenting God, because we testified about God that he raised Christ, whom he did not raise if it is true that the dead are not raised. (16) For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised. (17) And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins. (18) Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. (19) If in Christ we have hope in this life only, we are of all people most to be pitied. (20) But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.
17
How central is the resurrection to the gospel? 1Co 15:1-8 (1) Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, (2) and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you--unless you believed in vain. (3) For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, (4) that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, (5) and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. (6) Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep. (7) Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles. (8) Last of all, as to one untimely born, he appeared also to me.
