1 Template provided by: “posters4research.com” Levels of fasting blood glucose (p<0.0001), Glycosylated hemoglobin (p<0.0001), triglycerides (p<0.001) were significantly raised and HDL cholesterol (p<0.001) was significantly decreased in patients of diabetes without complications when compared with controls. In patients with complications the levels of fasting blood glucose (p<0.0001), glycosylated hemoglobin (p<0.0001), total cholesterol (p<0.001), triglycerides (p<0.001), low density lipoprotein cholesterol (p<0.001), were significantly and High density lipoprotein cholesterol (p<0.0001), was significantly decreased. There is positive correlation with Glycosylated hemoglobin and levels of total cholesterol, triglycerides, and low density lipoprotein cholesterol in both the study groups. Whereas High density lipoprotein cholesterol shown negative correlation with increased glycosylated hemoglobin. CONCLUSION REFERENCES N.M. Naseb 2, J.R. Peela 1, S. Shakila 1, A.R. Said 1, L.T. CORRELATION BETWEEN GLYCATED HEMOGLOBIN AND SERUM LIPIDS IN TYPE 2 DIABETICS IN EASTERN LIBYA. Logo Here There are 60 subjects has been chosen for study, out of 20 healthy controls, 40 subjects were diagnosed as diabetes with and without complications 20 patients each respectively. All the patients were measured Fasting blood glucose, glycosylated hemoglobin, serum cholesterol, Triacylglycerols and HDL cholesterol by using authenticated methods available. LDL cholesterol was measured calculation by using friedwal’s formula. Conclusion: According to the above results and correlation between glycosylated hemoglobin and serum lipids it is strongly suggesting dyslipidemias are common in diabetic patients when it is not controlled. Measurement of glycosylated hemoglobin is more useful than fasting blood glucose for control of diabetes and its complications. Complications of diabetes includes renal, ophthalmic and vascular complications particularly atherosclerosis are common. Present study is the status of serum lipids and lipoproteins in patients with and without complications in correlation with HbA1c. INTRODUCTION INTRODUCTION
