PAWS UPDATE I hope that the new school year is off to a great start for everyone! We are all settled in and ready to make this the best school year ever at TES! Just a few reminders as we begin the year: Attendance is very important to ensure that your student is getting all of the information that they may need for their classes. Please make sure that your child is here on time each day. Make sure that you check your child’s back pack or folder each day for important information. The first few weeks are filled with lots of important information about the upcoming school year. Some of these papers will need to be signed and returned to your child’s teacher. Please mark your child’s jackets, lunchboxes, backpacks, etc. with their name. If these items are lost, you are more likely to get them back if there is a name on them. We have several new faces on our TES staff this year. We would like to welcome the following staff to our family: Karen Gann – TES Counselor Lamar Turner – P.E. Colby Helms – 4 th Grade Audra Shepherd – Kindergarten Christina Neighbors -- 1 st Grade Parapro Lauren Mason – 1 st Grade Parapro Kim Grogan – PreK Parapro Lacy Brown – P.E. Parapro Parents At Work In Schools Please make sure that you return your PAWS forms to your child’s teacher by Wednesday, August 19 th. Volunteering at school is a great way to stay involved in your child’s education. Even if you have turned a form in to volunteer in years past, you still need to turn one in for the current year. Situations change from year to year, so if I don’t have a form, I will think that you are unable to volunteer this year. Thank you so much for all of the support you give our staff by offering to volunteer! Some of you can only come one or two times a year, but we have some volunteers that come weekly. We welcome volunteers whenever you can come! A Volunteer Orientation will be held on Tuesday, August 25 th at 9:00 a.m.. If you will be volunteering on a regular basis, please attend our orientation so that you will be familiar with what our volunteers do here at TES. If you have volunteered in the past, we would love for you to share some of your experiences with our new volunteers!

Don’t forget to check out our school website for important information and updates! HAVE YOU TURNED IN ALL OF YOUR UPDATED FORMS THIS YEAR? During the first few days of school, many forms were sent home with your child. Some of these forms were to be signed and returned. Please make sure that you have returned all of your forms including: Parent School Compact brochure - This brochure will give you information about our school and how we will support families to ensure that each student is given the best educational experience possible. It also gives expectations of students and parents for the school year. You will find a list of activities for parents to be involved in during the upcoming school year. Please sign the back page and send it back to your students homeroom teacher. Keep the brochure to refer to throughout the year. This document is required of all students. Student Residency Statement – This is a yellow paper that is required of all students. Parent Occupational Survey – This is a green sheet of paper. It is also required of all students. It will help us to know if you will receive some of our services that are available for students. Thank you for returning your paperwork in a timely manner.
