The Code Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research Responsible conduct of research –proper management of research data –retention of research data Retaining research data important –may be all that remains at the end of the research project

Project positive outcomes Information gathering about available data Even if researchers can’t share data now it tunes them into the need We are learning about research in different disciplines Building staff skills in the institution Building on work done by ANDS and other ANDS partners

Challenges, observations Researchers are busy –What is the benefit of data management and data sharing –What's in it for me… Research cultural change –Takes time Not all data can be shared: Ethics, IP Seeding the Commons Project and beyond
