17  Read the common mistakes on CCM application  Read the guidelines that precede the application  Review the FAQs  Contact CMCI staff for advice on any issues  Complete the application in detail and clearly demonstrate your role as RIC  Detailed project descriptions should match the reference letters (minimum of two)  Proofing the final copy before submission

19  Q:How Long does the CMIT designation last?  A: CMIT designation lasts for three years. You have to retake the exam every three years

20  Q: What if I don’t have a CM-related degree?  A: You will need to have 8 years general construction/design experience

21  Q: Is there a practice exam?  A: No. The study guide, however, does contain sample questions

22  Q: What if I don’t pass the CCM exam?  A: You may re-take the exam up to three times in a calendar year

23  Q: Do I have to pass the CMIT exam in order to apply for CCM?  A: No. CMIT is waived if you fulfill all the requirements for CCM applications

24  Q: What if I am unable to contact the employer to verify my Responsible-In- Charge experience?  A: There are instances where the person cannot be located or who may be deceased. In these cases, you may choose another individual who can attest to your RIC experience
