3 The Georgian National Academy of Sciences The Georgian National Academy of Sciences was established in 1941. It is a scientific adviser to the Government, is furthering the development of science in Georgia, develops relationship with the academies and scientific centers of other countries, carries on international exchange of scientific literature etc. Presidents of the Academy were N.Muskhelishvili (1941–1972), I.Vekua (1972– 1977), E.Kharadze (1977–1986), A.Tavkhelidze (1986–2005) and T.Gamkrelidze (2005-2013). Since 2013 the President of the Academy is Giorgi Kvesitadze. The Academy has 95 members and is member of the All European Academies (ALLEA) and many other international organizations.

5 Editors-in-Chief of all mentioned in the previous slide journals are famous scientists, full members of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences – Prezident of the Academy G.Kvesitadze (# 1), I.Kighuradze (# 2), L.Managadze (# 3) and H.Inassaridze (# 4), that confirms high authority of the Academy. 6 The Academy is committed to advancing theory, research and practice in all fields of science. The Academy publishes five other journals, each of which contributes to the objective emphasizing a particular scholarly aspect. 9 About the Bulletin Bulletin of the Georgian Academy of Science was founded in 1940. The multidisciplinary journal was popular throughout the scientific circles of the former USSR issuing in great periodicity. Bulletin of the Georgian Academy of Science was founded in 1940. English publication started since 1996, two identical journals were published: Georgian and English. The periodicity was two volumes, three issues per year. The Editor-in-Chiefs of the Bulletin traditionally were Presidents of the Academy. Since 2013 the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal is the President of the Academy, Academician Giorgi Kvesitadze.
