Motor Proteins Motor Protein
A protein (as dynein, kinesin, or myosin) that moves itself along a filament or polymeric molecule using energy generated by the hydrolysis of ATP.
2
Types of motor proteins
1. Dynein 2. kinesin 3. myosin
3
Dynein Motor Protein -Dyneins are microtubule motors capable of a sliding movement. -Dynein complexes are much larger and more complex than kinesin and myosin motors. -Dynein facilitates the movement of cilia and flagella.

Dynein Motor Protein continued…
-One type of Dynein motor protein is found in fungi. -Thirteen different types of Dynein motor proteins are found in insects. -Fourteen to Fifteen different Dynein motor proteins are found in humans.
5
Kinesin Motor Protein Flowering plants have an abundance of Kinesin Motor Proteins. Kinesin Motor Proteins specialize in the mitosis of plant cells.
