Logging into LCC’s CMS Visit http://www.laredo.edu/cms/loginhttp://www.laredo.edu/cms/login Click on the “login” button for a logon window to appear Provide your credentials on the logon screen Click on the “login” button

Accessing the instructional area Verify that the “login” button on the main page becomes “logout” Click on the “Workarea” button Expand folder tree until you reach your instructional department

2. Click on the semester folder where you want to upload your instructor’s syllabi 3. Click on the “Add Assets“ icon. 1. Click on the “faculty” folder and expand it until you reach the semester folder where you want to upload your instructor’s syllabi

Follow this workaround whether your have MS-Office (2003 – 2007) or MS- Office 2010. This only works on Internet Explorer. Your configuration should read like this link. If it reads “Switch Office version(Office 2010 selected)” then click on that link to change to Office 2003/2007, even if you have Office 2010.

1. Click on the “Multiple DMS Documents” button 2. Browse for your instructor’s syllabus on your computer. Be sure that the syllabus is in PDF and the syllabus has the “CourseNumber-Item-Semester-InstructorLast, InstructorFirst.pdf” file naming convention. 3. Click on individual files to upload or on the top checkbox to check all files Example of document file name: COSC 1301-Syllabus-Summer I 2013-Hernandez, Alma.pdf 4. Click the “Upload” button

1. Click on the “Yes” button to upload your instructor’s syllabus. In this example I’m uploading 51. I would recommend to upload no more than 30 at a time. Ektron recommends no more than 100 but I think that’s too many at a time.

The Workarea might seem like it froze, but just leave it alone. The upload is taking place on the background. My upload time for 51 files was 59 seconds.

After the upload is complete you will see your instructor’s syllabus listed under the corresponding semester folder. We are now ready to see the instructor’s syllabus from www.laredo.edu

Click on your instructional department to access the syllabus bank for all your instructors in your instructional department.
