MUST CONTAIN AT LEAST: 2 Parallel Lines Acute, Obtuse, Right, and Straight <s (1 of each min) 2 regular polygons (number of sides up to you) –Calculate the sum of the interior <s, each interior <, and each exterior < 2 Triangles (equilateral, isosceles, scalene, 0r right) 2 Quadrilaterals 1 circle Calculate the area of all triangles, quadrilaterals, and circles!!!!

5. You Must -Calculate the area of all triangles, circles, and quadrilaterals -Number all of the “needed” shapes and any other geometric concept you want credit for -Have a number key on a separate piece of paper labeling all of the corresponding shapes/numbers and providing any calculations

6. Label Everything Each Project must have everything labeled correctly. Example 1 Right Triangle: has one 90° < area = ½ bh So a = ½ 4ft x 2ft = 4 sq ft 4 ft 2 ft 1

7. Your Room Can be any room of your house Can be as extravagant as you want

8. Creativity Counts! Want a circular bed? How about a trapezoid swimming pool? Fill your room and BE CREATIVE! Points will be awarded for creativity – especially geometric creativity Bonus points: awarded for using geometric concepts not required

9. Steps Pick a room to create (bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, living room, game room) and decide on the shape of that room. List all of the items you want in your room List which of these fulfill your geometric requirements Decide on the dimensions of your room and items (must fit in your room) Make all required calculations (ex: calculate the area of your circle or the exterior angle of your regular polygon) Draw your room according to scale (may be a side-view or aerial perspective) Label the objects you want graded and make sure it corresponds to the labeled calculations

10. Project Next Steps Measure everything in your home using centimeters Calculate the Area of all the shapes using the formulas on the board –Put these on a different piece of paper Draw the outside of the house –Now show me what it would look like on the outside

12. Gallery Walk & Prizes Upon completion, we will display all of the rooms (covering up the names) and everyone will walk around examining the other rooms You and your classmates will vote on the best room Top 3 win a prize! Names of winners will be revealed after contest.
