Blend of Introduction to Business Communications, Professionalism, and several essential COB core learning objectives (global learning, ethical reasoning, team effectiveness, personal finance). Fall 2016 UC 1900: Business Learning Community (1 hr) 1) Small lab (n=25) for interaction & discussion/application of Freshman Cluster learning objectives with faculty member and peer mentor; 2) Transition to college and useful tools, resources, and skills; 3) Awareness of activities, organizations, and opportunities to become engaged outside of the classroom; and, 4) Group by majors/undecided. Fall 2016 BA 2000: CMGT Strategies (1 hr) BA 2000 (1 hr) MATH 1350: Calculus (4 hrs) MATH 1350 (4 hrs) College would like to work with Mathematics to possibly build a new Math course for Business Students that would replace MATH 1350 Fall 2017 ACCT 1010 (3 hrs) ACCT 1010 (3 hrs) 1. Remains a pre-req for Cluster and FIN 2400. ACCT 1020 (3 hrs) ACCT 1020 (3 hrs) 1. Change ECON 1030 from a pre-req for ACCT 1020 to a co-req to help students along 4-year pathway.Fall 2016 ECON 1030 (3 hrs) ECON 1030 (3 hrs) 1. Becomes a co-req to ACCT 1020 rather than a pre-req ECON 1040 (3 hrs) ECON 1040 (3 hrs) Freshman Cluster MGT 2100 (3 hr) MGT 2100 (3 hr) Goal of the cluster is to address all COB Core Learning Objectives in Breadth of Business Knowledge, Analytical Competencies, Socio-Cultural Competencies, and Communication Competencies. MIS 2020 (3 hr) MIS 2020 (3 hr) ACCT 1010 and BA 1500 are pre-reqs for cluster and FIN 2400 is a co-req for cluster MKT 2040 (3 hr) MKT 2040 (3 hr) FIN 2400 (3 hr) BA 2500: Strategic BusComm (3 hr) 1. Produce written correspondence in variety of formats and settings free of grammatical, punctuation, and syntax errors; 2) Use language (spoken and written) to prepare and deliver effective business presentations, individually and on a team, using appropriate technology; 3) Access and evaluate sources of information; 4) Develop logical, well- reasoned, persuasive, and creative communications; 5) Plan, conduct, control, and document effective meetings; and 6) Develop ability to effectively participate and communicate on a team, including listening, setting expectations, delivering constructive feedback, resolving conflict, and achieving team goals. Fall 2017 Sophomore Cluster FIN 2400 (3 hr) Becomes Co-Requisite for Cluster.Fall 2017 MIS 2010 (3 hr) Opportunity to combine classes by utilizing flipped techniques and removing the overlap of descriptive statistics coverage currently happening in all three classes QBA 2010: Business Statistics (4 hrs) QBA 1720 (3 hr) QBA 1720 is a new course that combines learning objectives for MIS 2010 and QBA 2010 and also becomes a pre- requisite for QBA 2720. Fall 2017 QBA 3710: Business Statistics (3 hrs) QBA 2720 (3 hr) QBA 3710 learning objectives remain unchanged. Only proposal is to change Course Number to QBA 2720 for more logical course numbering from QBA 1720 to QBA 2720 to QBA 3720 (the first course in the Business Analytics co- major). Aldo reinforces the expectation that this course should be taken in first two years. Fall 2016 PHIL 1300 (3 hrs) Elimination of the Breadth Cluster was approved by faculty, along with the reduction in required non-business hours from 42 to 30 and the reduction of required hours to graduate with a BBA from 128 to 120.
