7. What to do? Firmly tell the person who is harassing you to STOP. Write the date, place, and behaviors of the harassment. Find witnesses. File a grievance with appropriate person. Also, can file civil/criminal charges.

8. Factors Contributing to Under reporting of harassment. 1. Do not want to get the harasser in trouble – just want it to stop. 2. Embarrassment 3. Fear of retaliation – losing job. 4. Women think that this is “just the way men are” and ignore the harassment. 5. Men – embarrassed to act contrary to the stereotype that men welcome any opportunity for sexual activity.
