Etere MTX NAB 2010 Distributor Meeting

Why MTX  Our vision is to deliver an integrated framework  MTX follows this vision not as a simple video device but as an integrated system able to manage video.  With MTX finally the video management and the media asset management use the same framework.

Why Matrox  Matrox offers a Broadcast performance at reasonable price, there are competitive solutions but the price gap do not justify them  Matrox is used in a lot of Companies in the market Seachange Harris.......  Etere MTX allows you the same video compression and quality of branded product without the extra price.

What is Etere MTX  MTX is a driver to control directly Matrox cards from ETERE without external software.  Etere will provide the software ONLY, pc and Matrox card should be purchased from the distributor as usual.  MTX is a part of Etere and not an external product, his configuration is inside Etere itself.  Plug and Play: Automation, Media Manager, Recording automatically discover and use an MTX resource.  Logo inserter: can be used to insert fixed or animated logos with up to 8 layers.  Crawl  Loudness Control software based: thanks to the powerful library, can be used also to check the loudness without external device  Pass- through live event with logo and crawl features

What is NOT Etere MTX  It is not a video server, Etere doesn’t sell a “black box”  It is not an advanced graphic machine

How it works MTX? Porcess manager: INGEST PROCESS PLAYOUT & PREVIEW PROCESS GRAPHIC PROCESS The configuration of the MTX, is stored on the same ETERE SQL DB, AND locally on the MTX workstation.

Process Manager MTX

Playout Process It is possible to have a live preview of what is going on the decoder It is also possible to have an OSD with the playing clip and cued clip, the Audio Vmeter, and the Timecode

Ingest Process No particular action is available here, because all the setting is done using the resource editor in the configuration module. Using Etere Ingest module, it is also possible to set the encoder in different way, (ex. MPeg2, DV25, Xdcam, etc) in real time before you start the recording process.

Graphic Process Is displaying just the status of the process, if is needed a live preview is possible to see in the playout process.

Configuring MTX As soon as you connect the MTX to the network, you can add the MTX resource and configure it Configuration screen, when the configuration is saved is automatically saved on the sql server and locally in the MTX workstation

Configuring Logo and crawls Logos and crawls, are configured as usual in the configuration module; as soon as you saved, it automatically transfer the material in the MTX workstation, and convert it in the correct Matrox format

Hardware requirement Matrox DSX LE2 system requirements · Microsoft Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2 or 3. · Intel Xeon at 3.4 GHz or faster, or AMD Opteron 250 or faster. · Dual-CPU or one dual-core CPU, depending on processor used. · 2 GB of RAM (4 GB of RAM is recommended ). · One free PCI Express (PCIe) x4 slot (or greater). The slot must be wired electrically with at least four lanes. · Display card that supports Microsoft DirectX 9 and has at least 256 MB · Reference model: HP Z400 workstation Matrox XMIO2 System requirements · Microsoft Windows XP Professional (32-bit) with Service Pack 3. · Intel Xeon, Dual-CPU or one dual-core CPU, depending on processor used. · 2 GB of RAM (4 GB of RAM is recommended). · Display card that supports Microsoft DirectX 9 and has at least 512 MB of onboard memory. 14 Small Block concept  Initially MTX is suggested as one box with one in and 2 out.  This configuration gives you the best value for your money.  One in and 2 out is useful in the small systems as a brick to build a multichannel fully redundant system.  The concept of Small bricks make a system Modular Less expensive Easy to expand Easy to upgrade Lower maintenance cost  MTX has a very tight integration with Media Manager, the files will be always delivered on time.

Integration advantages  Preview of video from Scheduling  Graphics images display on video and on Scheduling also.  Media Asset Management for video files and graphics files at the same time

How to choose the correct card Xmio and Xmio2 5000 class 8-bit and 10-bit uncompressed HD and SD I/O. It doesn’t has neither software codecs nor effects. Xmio and Xmio2 6000 class 8-bit and 10-bit uncompressed HD and SD capture and playback as well as Standard Definition (SD) DV25, DV50, MPEG-2 I-Frame, IBP codecs, HDV codec, D10 (IMX), (No HD MPEG-2, or DVCPRO HD codecs) and software effects. Xmio and Xmio2 8000 class 8-bit and 10-bit uncompressed HD and SD capture and playback as well as Standard Definition (SD) DV25, DV50, MPEG-2 I-frame, and IBP codecs High Definition (HD) MPEG-2 I-frame codec, High Definition (HD) MPEG-2 IBP codecs, HDV codec, DVCPRO HD, D10 (IMX) codecs, and software effects.
