Angle of Elevation Angle of Elevation: the angle to which an observer would have to raise their line of sight above a horizontal line to see an object

Angle of Elevation Angle of Depression: the angle that an observer would have to lower their line of sight below a horizontal line to see an object

Angle of Elevation Identify the angle of elevation and the angle of depression. What can be concluded about the angle of elevation and the angle of depression? Why?

Angle of Elevation Describe each angle as it relates to the situation below

Angle of Depression An airplane is flying 3500 ft above the ground and begins a 2°descent to land at an airport. How many miles from the airport is the airplane when it starts its descent? 3500ft 2° x

Angle of Elevation A surveyor stands 200ft from a building to measure its height with a 5ft tall theodolite. The angle of elevation to the top of the building is 35°. How tall is the building.

Angles of elevation and depression A campsite is 9.41 miles from a point directly below the mountain top. If the angle of elevation is 12º from the camp to the top of the mountain, how high is the mountain?
