Lincoln Public Schools Lincoln, Nebraska Building Utilization and Capacity 3 Revised Capacity Listing Program capacity increased from 34,677 to 35,363 from 2012-2013 to 2013-2014. Staff adjusted capacity as a mechanism to identify where additional classrooms could be available. Moving forward for the purpose of projecting additional space to serve additional students adjusted capacity is our best indicator.

High School Building Utilization and Capacity 9 High school membership is 10,321 and is projected to grow to 12,431 in five years. Given the current HS capacity and the forecasted HS capacity with the career academy what does our ability to serve 12,500 students at the high school level look like? Step One: Tabulate focus and alternative program enrollment taking into account partial day programs. 389 students = (enrollment each program x % day at program) Step Two: Tabulate focus, alternative and career academy program enrollment taking into account partial day programs. 773 students = (enrollment each program x % day at program )

Lincoln Public Schools Lincoln, Nebraska Safety and Security Superintendent Facility Advisory Recommendations Implementing solutions to secure building entrances and control all other building accesses in every school. Solutions may vary from school to school and include relocating office spaces and adding keyless entrances and/or keyless doors. Examining the traffic flow at existing schools with appropriate governmental organizations followed by implementing solutions to address needs at high priority sites such as cutouts, drop-off and pick-up loops, and one-way traffic plans. Utilizing cameras to enhance security in high-priority areas. Providing the tools necessary for crisis communication. 29
