(i.e. one provider) o P.Tables 2017 (onwards) o Outcomes assigned on an annual basis to the funded provider in each year of KS5 study. 8 Academic – A levels as a sub set Applied General Tech Levels (L3) Tech Certificates (L2) (P.Tables – 2018) Qualification Categories

This is the main focus of the accountability system Basis for the new minimum standards Headline Measures: PROGRESS

Separate values for:- o L3 Academic (subset for A Levels) o L3 Applied General (Based on a L3 Value Added Measure) o L3 Tech Levels o L2 Tech Certificates (Based on a completion/ attainment measure) Headline Measures: PROGRESS

Separate values for:- o L3 Academic  Baseline prior attainment data based on full course GCSEs only o L3 Applied General  Baseline prior attainment data based on all L2 qualifications achieved at KS4 NB: No re-sits, only those achieved in KS4 Headline Measures: PROGRESS

o L3 Academic o L3 Applied General The difference between the actual L3 qualification attainment and the average L3 qualification in that subject for students with the same KS4 prior attainment (page 40) Calculation process:- (1) Individual qualification – (2) qualification type – (3|) qualification category Headline Measures: PROGRESS

Separate values for:- o L3 Academic  Threshold is likely to be -0.6 o L3 Applied General  TBA – next update NB: A provider will be seen as underperforming if score is below threshold AND confidence intervals are both below zero. Minimum Standards: PROGRESS

Separate average grade values for:- o L3 Academic (subset for A Levels) o L3 Applied General o L3 Tech Levels o L2 Tech Certificates NB: Aligns to current APE. Based on entry, withdrawals do not count as a fail. Size of qualification impacts. New points score applicable (210 – C – 30) At provider level same rules of allocation and size of qualifications. Headline Measures: ATTAINMENT

Same type of VA calculation as other ‘progress measures’. Prior attainment is English and maths only. Students progress (e.g. 0,1,2) will be matched against national average progress of students with same prior attainment in English and/or maths. Headline Measures: PROGRESS IN ENGLISH AND MATHS

A cap will be applied (no more than one grade down) Different rates of expected progress determined by KS4 GCSE grade achieved (e.g. F grade = 1.25 grades, D grade = 0.75 grades) Headline Measures: PROGRESS IN ENGLISH AND MATHS

Separate values for:- o L3 Academic (subset for A Levels) o L3 Applied General o L3 Tech Levels o L2 Tech Certificates NB:  No overall value  2016 tables only L3 qualifications  A level student only to complete ONE aim to be retained Headline Measures: RETENTION

Single academic year programmes  Retained = completed core learning aim within census. Identical to funding retention factor. Two year programmes (page 23)  Retained= completed the study programme activity for both years of at least one A level NB: Students can still be counted as retained if year 12 AS levels only. Headline Measures: RETENTION

Supporting measures  % of L3 students returning in year 13  Students retained but not assessed  Transferring on to lower level courses Headline Measures: RETENTION

Still experimental data – not robust. (Will only be included in headline measure when more robust) Still applying historic data - 2013 KS4 leavers Covers young people who were entered for L3 qualifications the size, or larger than A level. To be reduced to 0.5 A level. Headline Measures: DESTINATIONS

Based on –Sustained participation in education/ training/ employment (6 months October to April) Those not included:- –Destination not sustained –NEET –Activity not captured (Unknown) (NB. This could include duplicate students.) Headline Measures: DESTINATIONS

Achievement at a higher level of learning A level attainment AAB in facilitating A levels. Approved L3 maths qualification Tech Bacc Traineeships, supported internships and closing the gap Additional Measures

Qualifications not on the listings? Tops up qualifications? Takes qualifications but leaves at end of year 12? Stays on to year 14? Any others? What if’s?
