What today’s all about ………. We want to update you on how: SQA and Glasgow 2014 is linking with the further education sector; SQA and Glasgow 2014 are working on providing opportunities for the 15,000 clyde-siders to make the most of the skills and experiences they will take away from the Games; The Volunteering Options guide can be used by you to help volunteers recognise and enhance their skills; Glasgow 2014 is delivering a Volunteering Legacy

SQA’s Involvement with the Games SQA’s Aim Ensuring that Scottish Vocational Education has presence and feet on ground in Commonwealth Education events around and after games time – opening up international markets for Scottish Colleges and qualifications

The clyde-sider Options Guide Highlights existing skills and those gained as a result of the volunteering experience Has elements of a log book – interactive and with reference points Volunteers could receive recognition for skills and experiences achieved Colleges need to know that some learners will arrive with this … or have it at home … and how best it can be used to benefit candidates

An On-going Legacy - Opportunities for Volunteers We need: To raise awareness with stakeholders of the volunteering experience legacy To focus on what we can meaningfully offer to volunteers To give volunteers something that will lead them towards formal learning, training and possible employment – if they want it ….
