Supporting Arts Education in tough times Set Direction Mission: What’s the purpose of ‘school’? Provide students with content knowledge in core academic areas? To prepare the nation’s work force? Provide students with a broad range of learning experiences to prepare to contribute to society and to enjoy a good quality of life?

Supporting Arts Education in tough times Long Term Priorities CSBA sample policy 0200 recommends that the board: Adopt long-term goals focused on the achievement & needs of all students aligned with district vision, mission, philosophy, and priorities limited in number so as to be reasonably achievable within established timelines.

Supporting Arts Education in tough times Results of Research A majority of the schools in the survey partnered with Local small & large business activity focused most often on students. Schools and districts may be defining ‘partnerships’ too narrowly.
