Presentation Design Limit the use of text Short, bulleted text is best Use graphics instead of text, if possible Limit the number of slides Each slide should have a title

Slide Design Remain consistent with slide theme throughout Background Dark with light text or vice versa. (A dark background with white font reduces glare) Transitions Avoid distracting transitions Consistent throughout (no “random” transitions)

Visual Elements Remain consistent with font sizes and types Fonts should be large enough so that they can be easily seen Use clear, simple graphics or visuals Place your graphics in a similar location within each screen Avoid animations that are distracting

Charts and Graphs Should be clearly labeled Title Label both axes Provide a key when necessary Avoid using a table containing numbers - use graphs instead Make sure that graph is appropriate type of data represented

Presentation Face your audience at all times Summarize main points (do not read directly from the slide) Print notes for yourself
