2. We are living in an extraordinary moment. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is at the threshold of cures for more patients. Once unimaginable, safe and effective treatments are saving lives, today. LLS is focused on cures. While other large cancer organizations target their mission investment on prevention and early detection, LLS invests in cures because most blood cancers cannot be prevented or detected early. During the last 60+ years LLS has invested more than $1 billion dollars to develop blood cancer therapies. Research funded by LLS has led to advances in treatments such as chemotherapy, bone marrow and stem cell transplantation. Research is the cancer answer.
