Born Dec. 9, 1967 (42 Yrs.) In Bloomington, Indiana Started playing Violin at age 4 after creating songs on rubberbands he put around the knobs of his dresser. Education Age 14 - Performed as soloist with the Philadelphia Orchestra. Studied violin at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music Graduated from High school in 1984; two years ahead of schedule. 1989 - Bell received an Artist Diploma in Violin Performance Indiana University awarded him with a Distinguished Alumni Service Award only 2 years after his graduation. Age 14 - Performed as soloist with the Philadelphia Orchestra. Performances 1985 - Debuted at Carnegie Hall with Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra Age 18 - Bell did First LP recording Bell has performed with almost all of the world’s major orchestras and conductors. Gibson/Huberman Violin The Stradivarius Violin Mr. Bell currently plays Had been stolen twice in it’s history; 1st for 2 weeks; 2nd for about 50 years (1936 - 1985) Bell had played it when he appeared in concert with it’s current owner, Norbert Brainin. Purchased for about $4 million after the owner was going to sell it to a German Industrialist. Sold his Stradivarius “Tom Taylor” for $2 Million.
