National Child & Youth Justice Workshop 20th – 23rd of February 2006 UNICEF Pacific funded the workshop Single Magistrates Court Clerks Lawyers from AG’s & Peoples Lawyers office Prosecutors Prison Wardens Social Welfare Kiribati Counselling Association

Resource persons Enoka Puni, a pacific judicial training consultant. David Lambourne, the Solicitor General, Community Legal Trainer form the KANGO UNICEF Pacific Child Protection Officer Judicial Training Officer

Objectives of the workshop Enhance knowledge and capacity of police prosecutors, social welfare officers, defence lawyers, court clerks and Single Magistrates on Tarawa to promote child and youth justice and protection

Develop & apply best practice, methodologies and skills regarding child sensitive court procedures Develop a mission statement for the Youth Court to progress child and youth justice and protection across Kiribati.
