Government moving away from APP to “assessment without levels” This has freed us up to develop a system which will be: - Easy to implement. - Builds on the good work the school is already doing. - Is easy for parents and children to understand. - Is easy to manipulate.

Consulted with a variety of major data providers – Sims, I-Track, Target tracker. Research into what other schools are doing.

Use of Points score system, which was used in national reporting – many systems are already in place for this. Easy to manipulate data. Well understood levelling system, modified for the new national curriculum.

Progress reports and End of Year reports remain the same. Instead of levels, we are using the points system instead. Points system materials will be highlighted on the school website. A brief explanation of Curriculum and assessment can be found on the school website, for parents and governors who wish to know more.

Levelling grids – Just the same as before but modified for the new curriculum. Use the same materials as before but convert levels into points. Internal moderation – informal and formal. Updated writing moderation sample folders. Updating relevant displays and other materials the children use

Starting from this term during the end of term assessments we will trial this throughout the school. Assessment schedule is the same as before.

Sims – recording as points score. - Useful as a standard recording method. Copy and paste into the Newton Farm spreadsheet. - Quick data analysis. - Easy to understand. I-Track – Fine tuning assessments.
