4. www.hee.nhs.uk The purpose of a CEPN: To support the delivery of training and education based on population need by acting as a single local unit capable of negotiating with Trusts, HEE, holding contracts and managing learners in the locality To engage with workforce planning and education for the whole of the workforce supporting general practice To locally plan and develop current non-training capacity including all primary care provision To reduce variance in staff development and exploit inter- professional and team based opportunities To lead enhanced coordination of training locally To be able to develop training and education locally according to local needs to HEE quality criteria and standards
