Strengths for Democratic leadership Employees feel valued and important Employees feel like they are invested in the cause Employees feel that they can talk to their superiors Encourages seeing the company as a whole Increases employee satisfaction Employees have increased likelihood of excelling in their position and learn/improve skills because they feel empowered

Strengths for Democratic leadership Accepts and utilizes different perspectives Verifies acceptability with rest Team decision making and team agreement Increases employee motivation and commitment If the employee is happy, this reflects on the care that they provide to the patient and reflects on the healing process of the patient.

Challenges of Democratic leadership Time consuming Can possibly lead to disagreements between co- workers All employees need to care about the company and decisions that are being made

Challenges of Democratic leadership Can lead to frustration is decision is not what they wanted Multi-points of view More aggressive employees tend to get their feedback heard more than more timid employees Not always feasible in certain situations Example: Salary and Evidence based protocols and practices
