2. Why is a Safety Syringe Needed? To prevent the reuse of the syringe on more than one individual. To prevent damage to the needle before use. To provide a more biohazard compatible device for disposal. To prevent “needle-stick” injuries before and after use. For home users such as diabetics. These preventative measures may help to prevent the spread of AIDS and other blood-born diseases.

3. What Are We Doing? Our project goal is to incorporate both of these features into one device. Current safety syringes employ one of two features: –Retractable Needle –Retractable Needle Guard

7. 4.) Depress Plunger Expelling the Medication 5.) Push down Plunger Until Click is Heard: Needle Retracts
