2
Challenging starter Opportunities to talk and solve problems to develop their deeper thinking. Questioning was used to help children find the answer.
3
All children were on task and talking about the activity. I could see they were mastering their prior learning.
4
Use of TA to support HA group for the starter.
5
Main activity Groups swapped over for the main activity : HA/MA with Tracy LA with Jane Really easy transition – could see children were used to this. Great modelling from Tracey and Jane & all children were engaged in the activity.
6
Great differentiation between different abilities. LA – one symbol = 1 MA/HA – one symbol = 2 Jane used questioning to challenge Sam (What would you do if...?) Lots of mini-plenaries by Tracey to prevent misconceptions and she always got children to explain why/why not and provide reasoning.
7
Children were always prompted to provide reasoning when they offered an answer.
8
Evidence of children reaching ARE All children showed they were able to interpret the graphs and construct their own but still with some level of challenge. HA were challenged to creating their own questions. Showed evidence of deeper thinking.
9
Next step: Challenge children to interpreting graphs with different keys independently (with no input at all) to allow them to master their learning. VERY enjoyable – Thank you !
