5. Typical Day  Start 7:25 – End 2:20  6 periods (55 minutes approx. each class)  30 minute lunch  10 minute Homeroom  5 minutes passing time between classes

6. Switching classes Students have 5 minutes of “passing time” between classes. They can do a lot in 5 minutes!!

What You Can do to Help Transition Your Child  Accept that there is a WIDE RANGE of NORMAL in Middle School!!!  Organizational & Time Management Skills are essential for SUCCESS  Always be Willing to “LISTEN” not just “HEAR” what your child has to say  Respect your child’s need for Privacy  Know his/her friends and their Parents  Monitor Computer Time & usage  A Secret Weapon for School Success- SLEEP! 10-11hrs.  Don’t end your involvement; Change it!!  NEVER-EVER-GIVE UP! It may not feel like it, but your child needs you more NOW than ever! Be Patient, you will get through this!!
