4 4 Waste Volumes Since we have put the changes in place we have continued to save in different areas.

5 © 2015 Confidential Draft Discussion Document 5 Waste Volumes With the clinical savings we have made so far we have been able to introduce C64 bins into our ED department and our Wynnum Facility

6 © 2015 Confidential Draft Discussion Document 6 Waste Volumes We have pushed our recycle bins at Redlands and just put in 660 litre bins to collect the 5 litre bottles from this area they were going into general waste. This is a free service

7 © 2015 Confidential Draft Discussion Document 7 Awareness ? How we made staff and clients aware of waste management within Redland- Wynnum facilities We deliver waste awareness at orientation but after that there is no mandatory requirement to do refresher training. In previous years we had attended handovers and provided staff refresher training however there was limited uptake and commitment from clinical staff. Training ceased as a result. The key take home message was that we need to do something that was not time consuming, would catch their eye, clearly illustrate the benefits of waste segregation and get people talking “waste”.
