I Entered the Mencap Swimming Gala as an individual in May 2014 (won medals) Met the NW Development Officer for Special Olympics Entered the National Cycling Competition in June 2014- I won a gold medal I was asked to apply for a place on the SOGB cycling squad – in Sept 14; I was accepted and my journey began……………

I am supported by Bolton University on their Elite Athlete programme, where I have weekly training sessions including physio and nutrition support

I coach once a month at Tameside through British Cycling teaching young disabled people to ride a bike and British Cycling published an article on me

I launched the “Kiera Project” in conjunction with Performance For All

I won 6 trophies at Special Olympics Cheshire Penguins Award evening for cycling and Swimming

I switched on Bolton’s Xmas lights, had tea with the Lady Mayor and met Father Christmas

I am at college full time studying a BTEC level 2 in Sport and I’ve met the person I aspire to be

I’m training for the National SO games in July 2016 and Track National in August 2016.

I will be competing in the Special Olympics National swimming competition in July 16 I will be doing a British Cycling Level 2 cycle qualification – thanks must go to Kevin Davies from Kids of Bolton for funding my place

Hope that learning disabilities will go back into the Paralympics or become fully inclusive (including cycling) I would like start SO North West cycling hub in the future, (so its not just me! ) I would like also to become a swim coach /teacher for disabled children and young people

The Special Olympics Motto’s is “Let me Win, But if I cannot win let me be brave in the attempt” And that’s what I did for Great Britain and the North West
