Construction 8 people had already died before the Titanic hit the iceberg. A skilled worker would get £2 a week and a normal worker would get £1 or less. It took a total of 3 years to finish and was designed by Thomas Ismay.

Facilities Onboard 32 lifeboats were actually made to aboard the ship but only 20 went onto the Titanic it would of saved 1,800 lives. It was 882 feet long. It had 2 Gymnasiums with rowing machines, a stationary bicycle and an electric horse. A heated swimming pool (the first ever built into a vessel). Squash court on F deck and also had 2 smoking rooms.

Maiden Voyage On the Titanic’s maiden voyage (first) it sank to the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean trying to get to New York City. In 1911 the Olympic the Titanic’s sister set sail for her maiden voyage.

Iceberg Collision On April 14 th a message was sent to the Titanic by a ship reporting an Ice berg ahead The Titanic ignored the message and started to sink after it hit the iceberg.

The Sinking Fredrick Fleet and Reginald Lee were on duty as lookouts and 2 hours in,the first sign of an ice berg was found by Fredrick Fleet. In total it took 3 hours to sink!

Survivors Lillian Gertrude was one of the first people to leave the sinking ship as she was in the 4 th lifeboat. She was 5 years old and is now living in the U.S.A. and is 95 years old.706 people survived and 1,517 died.
