S.DusiniOPERA meeting, LNGS 19-23 May 2003 Gas and HV Gas – 10 th of April: permission to use gas in Lab2 –4 gas line (i-but, Ar, TFE, SF 6 ) –1 gas line for each RPC –For the moment we chose to have 3 RPC in series like in OPERA –Test with standard gas mixture (48% Ar,48 % TFE, 4% i-but) HV –CAEN SY127 with pos. and neg. power supply –RPC current monitored with two 16 ch. nano- amperometer. (The same system will be used for OPERA)

S.DusiniOPERA meeting, LNGS 19-23 May 2003 Reconstruction & Analysis There is a reconstruction prog. written in Fortran by S.D. now used to debug the DAQ and to make the analysis on the first RPC Final goal is to have recon. analysis and online- histograms written with Root (S.Stalio and SD) –Online histograms + event display almost ready (see next) –Recon + analysis 2,3 weeks All the data will be stored in Root files.

S.DusiniOPERA meeting, LNGS 19-23 May 2003Conclusions After some delay (Gas+DAQ) the RPC Cosmic Test is starting 2 RPC box are already in the test Due to the delay of trigger walls for the moment we will run in auto-trigger mode (majority N DigOR >4) Debug all the system Accumulate statistic to set quality cuts In a short time we will be running testing 36 RPC per week.
