4 Chord Symbols  A note name on its own means a major chord  A note followed by a letter “m” means a minor chord  What is the difference between a major and a minor chord?

5 Writing chords 1. Look up the key signature of the note 2. Build up a triad on that note 3. Apply the key signature! 4. If minor, make the middle note one semitone lower  Bm  Key sig of B = F #,C #,G #,D #,A #
