Bernoulli Activity

Overview You will fold one piece of paper Size should be about ½ a sheet of notebook paper It is a quick demonstration of the Bernoulli Principle

Fold the edges of a piece of paper toward the center; the two edges should meet at about the center of the paper Unfold the paper; fold each flap in half Use the folds to make a box similar to what is shown on the left

What’s next? Use the two flaps as a place to put your fingers to hold the box down While keeping it on a flat surface, get down level with the opening of the box Blow as hard as you can through the opening of the box CAREFUL: Do NOT blow on top of the box

Are you sure? What happened? Make sure that you did this correctly by trying several times Now, place something in front of the opening Blow as hard as you can directly above the box What happened?

The turn-in Flatten out the box On one side of the paper, write: Your name Today’s date What happened when you blew through the opening What happened when you blew above the box Turn in your paper
