WHAT MAKES A POEM A POEM? PROSE---ALL WRITING THAT IS NOT POETRY ALLITERATION----START WITH THE SAME SOUND “towering” and “titanic” HALF-RHYMES----like “immense” and “tremendous” MUSICALITY---ONE OF THE QUALITIES THAT MAKES IT A POEM.

CHOOSE A WORD THAT IS AN ADJECTIVE.---A WORD THAT DESCRIBES A PERSON OR AN OBJECT. NEXT,WRITE DOWN AS MANY SYNONYMS AS YOU CAN FOR THIS WORD. YOU MAY NOT USE ANY WORDS FROM THE POEM. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO USE A DICTIONARY OR THESAURUS.
